AAAA believes every child deserves permanency.  In order to mobilize the African American community, we developed a creative and culturally targeted recruitment platform.  We build strategic alliances to raise awareness and find forever families for waiting children.

AAAA's recruitment takes a two-fold approach.  It centers on:

• Community outreach - AAAA works with faith organizations, local businesses, service organizations and African American leaders to launch and implement grassroots awareness campaigns.  AAAA staff attends local community festivals and educational events to connect one-on-one with potential adopters.
• Child-specific recruitment - For children who have been waiting too long, AAAA develops an individualized plan based on background, personal characteristics and particular needs.  Child-specific recruitment may involve finding a relative, foster parent, teacher, bus driver, or friend's parent to provide a loving and stable home.  This revolutionary approach has helped children as old as 17 find permanent families.
