AAAA's private adoption model approaches concerns and priorities of both birth and adoptive parents as important family issues.  We use counseling to build consensus between all parties.  In the end, adoptive and biological parents work together to decide whether they will have an open vs closed adoption.

Private adoption generally involves infants, but can also be used to unite older children with a permanent family. vThe process usually involves a collaboration between AAAA and another agency, sometimes located out-of-state.  The wait-time for infants or adoptive children largely depends on the requirements and needs of all parties involved.

Private adoption includes a process of self-disclosure of social and medical history.  As with any child or adoption, there is no guarantee that every special need or medical condition will be anticipated.
