Information Collection and Use
Information Collection
AAAA is the sole owner of the information collected at
www.afadopt.org. AAAA collects information from our users at several different points.
Get Started, Volunteer, Contact Us, Orientation and Training Schedules
In order to request more information on AAAA services or register for specific sessions, a user must first complete an online form. To indicate their interest users are required to provide contact information (such as name and e-mail address) as well as adoption preferences. We use this information to contact the user about services, answer questions and begin the application process. It is optional for the user to provide demographic information, but providing such information is encouraged so we can provide a more personalized response and tailor our public awareness campaigns.
Online Donations
We request information from the user on our online donation form. A user must provide only contact information. AAAA uses this information to contact the user directly. No financial information is transmitted through the site; donations are processed over the phone, through the U.S. mail or in-person only.
Information Use
Log Files
Like most standard Web site servers we use log files. This includes Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Communications from the Site
Inquiry Responses and Updates
We send all new members a response e-mail verifying we received their request. We then take time crafting an individual response to each inquiry. Established members will occasionally receive information on services, events or new recruitment initiatives. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see the Choice/Opt-out section.
Customer Service
We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account we reply via email or phone, in accordance with users' wishes.

Legal Disclaimer
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site.
